join us in the Parade!

Nau mai, haere mai! Join us on the streets of Pōneke to celebrate and advocate for Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s Rainbow communities.

Bringing your business, sports club, charity or community group into the Wellington Pride Parade shows you are standing up for a more diverse and inclusive Aotearoa.

With over 15,000 spectators lining two kilometres through the heart of our city, there’s no better platform to stand up, be counted and share in our collective joy.

Whether you are walking, dancing, or joining us on wheels, your presence helps make Wellington one of the most inclusive cities in Aotearoa.

What to know
before registering

Safety and wellbeing first:
Everyone participating in the Parade must agree to our Participation Policy. This ensures the Parade remains safe, welcoming and celebratory for all—and particularly our trans whānau.

Your details: When you register, you will need to provide details about your group size, vehicle or float requirements, and music plans (rough indications are fine for now—you can confirm exact details closer to the date). This helps us ensure balance, safety and a seamless running order on the day.

Application review: All registrations are reviewed by the Wellington Pride Parade Trust. We reserve the right to decline applications that do not align with our values, Participation Policy and responsibility to actively support the wellbeing of our diverse Rainbow community.

Capacity limits: Registrations close once capacity is reached. Secure your spot early to ensure your group is included in the official running order.

Further information: We will provide groups with further information on logistics, safety and marshalling times as we get closer to the Parade day.

ENTRY fees

Our entry fees directly fund the operational, safety and community infrastructure required to run a large-scale, accessible city Parade. This includes securing road closures and traffic management, providing professional security and first aid, supporting local performers, and ensuring free participation for grassroots Rainbow community groups.
